Anything But Lovers
To craft this anthology, I researched stories from all over the world that feature LGBTQ+ characters and themes.
From a catalogue of 30+ stories, each was categorised by its origin and representation. Six stories were handpicked for their diversity in origin, virtue of representation, and source reliability.

I rewrote these stories to a set length and storyboarded illustrations that enhance the narrative.
The hero spread for each story homages the historic art style from its country of origin, while also blending LGBTQ+ iconography and cultural colour theory.

Niccolo Piccolo
2024
Brand Identity · Illustration
I was approached to create the brand identity for Niccolo Piccolo: introducing tamariki to Te Ao Māori through music. Nicola envisioned a visual system evolving around an illustration of her with a band of native manu.
We first designed our characters, then built a setting of NZ fauna to surround them.
A limited colour palette aids the strengthening of the visual system.
I first coloured the components with distinct requirements. Then, I use the existing colours to fill the gaps for a well-rounded, cohesive illustration.
The playful, bubbly logo appeals to tamariki & parents. The custom A–Z typeface compliments the logo, with serifs for readability.

Kiwibots
2025
UX/UI Web Design
Since 2022, I've been a contracted designer and content manager for Kiwibots, The New Zealand Robotics Charitable Trust. My largest project for Kiwibots has been managing the design of their website.
The client's pre-existing website was built with no design expertise. I took the existing framework and restructured it with a focus on accessibility, clear communication, and amplifying Kiwibots' mission.

My Name
is Chilli
2023
Illustration
‘My Name is Chilli’ is a collaboration with Kiran Morar, designed as a personalised gift for their partner Eli. Its tone is a stark contrast to Kiran’s typical lovelorn melacholy.
He enlisted my help to parody the style of a children’s book, and we crafted illustrations to companion each stanza.

Proxima Nova
2022
Type Specimen
In 1991, Mark Simonson, then art director of Business Ethics magazine, was using Gill Sans but wanted a plainer typeface blending modern proportions with geometric features.
Finding none that fit, he created his own, drawing inspiration from Helvetica, Futura, and US highway signage fonts. His original name for the typeface, ‘Zanzibar’, inspired this specimen.

Enact
2022
UX/UI Web Design
A news outlet that encourages community action while playing on the prevalent Blind Spot Bias within Western leftists. Using Figma, I designed the UX for four unique user journeys.
My user interface and experience design utilises research-based journey mapping to craft experiences that aren’t only beautiful, but prioritise accessibility and unambiguous communication.

Qui Vive!
2023
Brand Identity
‘Qui Vive’, French for ‘On Alert’, is a slogan worn on badges by lesbians in the ‘50s so they could identify one another without outing themselves.
The Qui Vive! visual system features an array of characters that represent LGBTQ+ symbols; some transparent, and others covert. Scroll left to see more.
Wharenui o Te Kunenga ki Pūrehuroa
2023
Information Design
I facilitated social media and cross-media communications for Massey Halls of Residence: maintaining digital & physical noticeboards, ensuring accesibility of vital guidelines & procedures, and promoting events.
These touchpoints were frequently information-heavy, so an emphasis on visual hierarchy alongside compelling graphics was key to ensuring that essential content could be made digestible.
